Athens, AL

Labor Day weekend we headed South to visit family.  We hadn't made the trip since Christmas and a lot has changed since then.  For example, Ava's vocabulary and curiosity has grown tremendously (translate: she talked all of the way there!).  There were lots of "mom, are we there?"  And that started before we were even to the Arch.  But we made it with only one stop - yes, six and a half hours with one.stop.  I was just as miserable as Ava.  30 weeks preggo might not be the best time for a long car ride :)

It was a hot weekend in Alabama but it was also opening weekend of college football.  We had a great time and got to see lots of family.

As you can see above, Ava thought Ashton's trampoline was pretty cool!  She had never jumped on one that big before.  But she had strict rules about one person jumping at a time.
On Friday, we went to Huntville and visited the Children's Museum.  Ava and Ashton found lots of fun stuff to do.

The tree below may have been the biggest hit...it talked!  Ashton said "that is just weird!"  And Ava wouldn't take her eyes off of it.

Best Buds!  Ashton is so good with Ava (even with all of her sassiness!)
Saturday evening we went to Bart's aunt's house for a little family get together.  It was so great to see everyone!  Unfortunately, we don't get to see them that often.
Little Colin is getting so big!  It was fun to see what he is up to now.
Bryce and Ramsey (Bart's cousin's kids)
Ramsey was awesome with Ava.  I wanted to bring her home with us.  She kept Ava entertained for hours playing princess and whatever Ava wanted her to do.  Thanks Ramsey!

Next time we head to Alabama we'll be a family of 4!
