3 year check up

Ava had her 3 year check up today.
She weighed in at 28.5 lbs.

Only one vaccination today and Ava did great - not a tear shed! So proud of her!

A few things Ava's been up to these days:
~ talking - she never stops talking! A lot of really cute (and random) things come out of her mouth. For example, she told grandpa one night that her lips were too sad so kiss her cheek. She asks a million questions about everything. She needs to know where we are going, who is going to be there, if that person will be happy or sad, and then usually tells us that she doesn't have to be shy.

~ singing - LOVES to sing and often makes up her own songs. One of her faves right now is "New York, New York" Daddy taught her this and she even pretends to sing it in spanish. I should get these on video. I'll work on that and get back to you.

~ sleeping - not excelling in this category these days. Naps are hit or miss. It becomes such a fight that I often give up. Bedtime is a struggle as well. She likes to see how far she can push our buttons by getting out of bed multiple times. This week we've implemented the "tag team" strategy. Bart and I take turns checking on her every few minutes in an attempt to keep her in her bed. We gradually lengthen the time span between visits as she settles down and stays in bed. It's a monotonous routine but seems to be helping the nighttime tug of war.

~ eating - sometimes she eats, sometimes she doesn't. End of story.

~ dancing - the girl loves to dance! She put on quite a show last week a little outdoor concert we went to. First dance class is in July, we'll see what happens but I think she's going to love it!

I think that's all for now!
