OMG! is the only way I know how to describe this story.
No pictures today. Just a story of a very strong willed little girl!
On Saturday, I put Ava in her crib for naptime. No problems - she was pretty happy to get in bed and play as usual. I went back up a little while later and she had a dirty diaper. I changed her and put her back in bed. She threw a fit and wanted books to read. I offered her a couple of books but they apparently weren't the ones she wanted and she continued crying and screaming, so I gave up and said 'fine no books, it's time to go night night'.
I left the room while she continued to carry on. She cried for awhile but then seemed to settle down a little bit. I went to the basement to do some painting. I was only down there for maybe 5 min when I heard footsteps above me. I thought to myself 'wow, Shelby's (our dog) steps aren't usually that loud'. As I started up the stairs, there stood Ava with two books in hand. She laid them on the floor and looked at me like - these are the books I wanted. I didn't know what to do. Laugh? Cry? I think I did both.
Had I not put her in bed myself I wouldn't have believed it. And I had just told someone last week that she's not a climber - whatever mom!
I took her upstairs, she went happily (of course she did she had what she wanted).
She hasn't done it since - although she has been caught thinking about it or with one leg ready to escape. I think it's time to convert her crib to a toddler bed.
Honestly, if I knew she wouldn't get hurt - I would love to see how she did it! One of the few times I wasn't staring at that darn monitor!
