Over the weekend we went to Chicago to visit Aunt Tina!
I had found cheap plane tickets months ago so Bart and I decided it would be fun to fly up. It was Ava's first time flying. She did really well and loved watching the planes take off while we were waiting to board.
This trip also coincided with Ava turning 18 months so I suggested we do her photo shoot in Chicago. Tina searched out places and we ended up at this old building that housed some sort of tire company. The main attraction was a pink door (as seen in previous post). It was perfect! I loved it even though Bart's worrisome self was on overdrive being that we had to be on a loading dock and Ava had to be watched closely so she didn't run off the edge. But everyone was safe and Aunt Tina got some great pics!
Unfortunately, sleeping was an issue. In fact, Ava must have thought that we were in Vegas (the city that never sleeps) because she didn't sleep much...therefore no one slept much. I'm not sure if it was being in a strange place, teething, getting sick, or a combination but she was not a happy camper. By Sunday, she had a runny nose and still does but so far no fever. And she has slept through the night the last two nights.
Even with the lack of sleep, she was able to totally enjoy the Aquarium. In fact, I think she LOVED it. She must have said "ish" a thousand times. And she walked around on her tip toes as if she was going to jump out of her shoes she was so excited. It was so cute to see her experience that.
We watched the dolphin show too and she was able to follow along and LOVED watching all the action.
It was a great trip, even with little sleep!
These are the pictures I took. I'll let you know when the ones are up from Tina.
