It wasn't immediately that the doctors decided she needed to go to the NICU but after several minutes of assessing her they decided it was best for her to be closely monitored. I only got to briefly hold her against my chest before they took her away. Daddy followed closely to keep an eye on her. Once in the NICU she was weighed...only 4lbs 13 oz and 17 3/4 inches long. Wow! A tiny little thing she was. They put her on 100% oxygen to begin with but within no time she progressed to less and less.
